41.1 Endoscopic ultrasound for fistula

This is an example of the utility of EUS to evaluate perianal fistulae. One will see an obvious trans-sphincteric fistula anteriorly. The fistula appears as a hypoechoic tract with hyperechoic beads within. This represents inflammation in the tract and air within the fistula.
